Blue Shark
The Image
This is a picture I took, a few years back, of a female blue shark swimming close to the surface off Southwest Cornwall, UK. Each year blue sharks arrive off the coast of Southwest Britain, normally sometime in mid-June and remaining until mid-October. Blues are true oceanic sharks; they inhabit deep water, only infrequently venturing on to shallower, continental shelf waters. They are found in tropical and temperate oceans around the globe. However, in the tropics they tend to stay in deeper, cooler water but are often observed in surface waters in temperate seas. They feed on fast moving prey such as squid and schooling fish. Much of their feeding appears to be done in deeper waters. The photograph was taken on a Nikon full-frame camera with an ultra wide-angle (13mm) lens. You can read my blog about this trip here.
The Prints
The Canvas print. The print is produced using state of the art pigment inks, and is available as a 75 x 50.5 cm (29.5 x 19.75 inch) archival quality canvas print (email me for other sizes). The print is wrapped on 2 inch wide wooden stretcher bars, and comes ready to hang. The print can be provided with a black, white or wrap (where the image appears to wrap around) border, depending on your preference.
Certificate of Authenticity. Each print will come with a certificate of authenticity, which will include the edition number of that print, and a small signature on the back or front (bottom corner) as preferred. (note, this is not the large signature seen on the website image, which is for copyright purposes ony)
Pricing. The costs of the 75 x 50 cm canvas print is £285. This excludes delivery which is provided at cost. I will ship to most countries, where practical. You can use the Xe widget below to generate an approximate cost in your own currency.
