The Image
I took this photograph a few miles off the coast neat the southern tip of New Zealand South Island. We were sailing from Stewart Island, the small, rugged island to the south of South Island, heading towards the city of Dunedin. It was a perfect evening in mid-November, summer in the southern hemisphere, around 8.30pm. The sun was already almost touching the horizon, creating deep shadows in the troughs of the ripples pushed along by the light breeze. The orcas approached our bow from the northeast, then passed close by on our port side. They were there for maybe 60 seconds, but it was enough.
The Prints
The Canvas print. The print is produced using state of the art pigment inks, and is available as a 75 x 50.5 cm (29.5 x 19.75 inch) archival quality canvas print (email me for other sizes)The print is wrapped on 2 inch wide wooden stretcher bars, and comes ready to hang. The print can be provided with a black, white or wrap (where the image appears to wrap around) border, depending on your preference.
Print Sizes
The print is available in 3 sizes: 50 x 31cm (20 x 12 inch); 102 x 68 cm (40 x 27 inch) and 152 x 102cm (60 x 40 inch). This is the edge to edge size of the image (rounded to the nearest half centimeter). Other sizes can me produced, please email me to discuss.
Certificate of Authenticity. Each print will come with a certificate of authenticity, which will include the edition number of that print, and a small signature on the back or front (bottom corner) as preferred. (note, this is not the large signature seen on the website image)
Pricing. Prices start from £215 for a 50 x 31cm (20 x 12 inch) print; £343 for a 102 x 68 cm (40 x 27 inch) canvas print. This excludes delivery which is provided at cost.
