Ocean sunfish, Mola mola, basking close to the surface.  Picture shows eyes, mouth, dorsal and anal fin clearly visible as is complete absence of tail (caudal) fin.  The ocean sunfish is believed to be the heaviest bony fish (Osteichthyes), with one individual weighing 2235kg (4927lb) recorded.  It can grow up to 3 metres (10ft) in length.  Ocean sunfish also hold the record for the maximum number of eggs produced by a vertebrate animal, a medium sized female may carry 300 million eggs in her ovary.
