Two Cape verdean ladies chat on the beach at Tarrafal, Santiago, Cape Verde islands (Cabo verde).  Both wear brightly coloured clothing and are carrying baskets of freshly caught fish on their heads.  Tarrafal, or Villa de Tarrafal,  is a small fishing port on the north western tip of Santiago.  It has a beautiful sandy beach.  Brightly painted open wooden fishing boats and fishing nets are hauled up on to the sand. Fish are caught is small wooden open boats by local, artisanal, fishermen using lines or monifilament hand nets.  The fish in the basket are yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) and brightly coloured African Hind (also known as spotted seabass) (Cephalopholis taeniops).
